Traditional bridges take one to two weeks to build in a dental lab. This means multiple appointments and temporary crowns are needed. However, Dr. Armstrong and Dr. Tant use CEREC® in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC) allows our dentists to construct and place dental crowns in one visit.
When placing a CEREC crown, our dentists will take digital impressions of your tooth. This is much quicker and simpler than taking physical impressions. The digital impressions are sent to the computer. Our dentists will use CEREC software to design your crown. This crown is individually designed for your mouth, so it is very aesthetic. Our dentists will choose a shade that will match the color of your natural teeth. A milling machine is used to construct the dental crown in our office. The milling process takes only 8 to 18 minutes. When your dental crown is complete, our dentists will place it in your mouth to check the fit and color. After any necessary adjustments are made, our dentists will permanently cement the crown in place.
We encourage you to contact our dental office today to learn more and to schedule your next visit with our dentists.
